Darby and Massey Back with Rams
The St. Louis Rams have re-signed veteran long-snapper Chris Massey and running back Kenneth Darby has signed his exclusive-rights free agent contract.
Massey, a 7th-round pick of the Rams in 2002, has been very consistent in his role--at one point connecting on 528 straight clean snaps.
He finished last season on injured reserve after suffering a torn ACL in Week 7 against Indianapolis. He had surgery in late November and has been a regular at Rams Park this offseason rehabbing.
Darby had 27 carries for 152 yards last season. As an exclusive-rights free agent, Darby had the choice of either re-signing with the Rams or not playing in 2010.
The Rams have seven other exclusive-rights free agents: DE C.J. Ah You, CB Quincy Butler, LB Larry Grant, WR Jordan Kent, OT Ryan McKee, S David Roach , and LB David Vobora.

WR Kevin Curtis now Free Agent
The Philadelphia Eagles announced the release of Kevin Curtis this afternoon.
"Kevin is one of the classiest players I have ever been around," said Andy Reid.
"He's the type of player and person we like to build our team with. We just feel good about the young core of receivers we have on our team at this point."
The former 3rd round pick of the Rams in 2003, signed with Philadelphia as an unrestricted free agent in 2007--but after a career high 77 receptions in his first season as an Eagle has struggled to stay healthy.
Curtis suffered a sports hernia in 2008 and was inactive for the first six games of the year. Knee surgery forced him to miss twelve games last season.
In total, Curtis played in 28 games for Philadelphia and caught 116 passes for 1,577 yards with eight touchdowns.
If healthy, Curtis would be an intriguing option for a team. He was timed as fast as 4.21 in the 40-yard dash--and that speed made him a strong compliment in the slot for Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt. But in that first season at Philly, he also showed he could be the featured wideout and still perform.
League sources have said Curtis would be open to a Rams return, but he has yet to decide what his plans will be in terms of working out for teams.
And Curtis should be familiar with the Rams offense--not from his days in St. Louis, but from working alongside Pat Shurmur with the Eagles.
Chicago could also be an option, as Mike Martz was the head coach who drafted him.

RAMdom Notes: Parker to Visit
As first reported by ESPN's Adam Sheffter, it has been confirmed that Willie Parker will be visiting Rams Park the end of this week. He is expected to arrive Thursday evening.
Beginning in 2005, Parker had three straight rushing season of 1200+ yards. He broke his leg against the Rams in December of 2007 and the last two years has rushed for lower totals of 791 ('08) and 389 ('09) yards.
-Richie Incognito has signed a 1-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. Incognito was not tendered by Buffalo after being awarded to the Bills off waivers from St. Louis on December 16, 2009 after spending his first five seasons with the Rams.
-Minnesota has brought back defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy for a third season as a Viking in 2010 after originally joining the club in December 2008. Last year, he matched his career-best 3.0 sacks in the regular season and added another sack in the playoffs.
Kennedy was a first-round draft pick, #12 overall, by the Rams in 2003.
-Tye Hill, another former Rams first-round pick, was released yesterday by Atlanta.

Like Old Times for Fraley
The Rams newest offensive lineman, Hank Fraley, took part in a conference call today--here are a few of the highlights:
The biggest appeal of joining the Rams was reuniting with Steve Spagnuolo and Pat Shurmur.
"I feel there's a comfort level. I go all the way back with Coach Spagnuolo from my Eagles days and also Coach Shurmur. We were there for six years together. I came on a visit and it was just like old times with those guys. They were great to me when I was with Philly and what they had to say and what they had to offer down there, I think it was best for me. I'm excited just to join those guys and be a Ram. It's fun. It's going to be exciting this year."
Fraley isn't sure exactly what his role will be with the Rams, strictly backing up Jason Brown at center or competing for one of the guard spots.
"I think the role is just coming in and competing wherever it is and helping out the team however it is, helping us win. I really don't know what would be the role. It could be a backup or it could be a starter. I just want to come in and just be competitive and help the team win in any way I can. Really we haven't gotten into details where it's going to be, on the starting line or not."
While he's played the majority of his career at center, Fraley did move to guard last season and has even ventured a little further out on the edge...
"All the games I played in last year were all right guard, but I did practice a lot at left. I can play pretty much the whole line. I even played a game my second year in the league at tackle for a half a game. Of course this year I lined up a lot at tight end. Whatever the Browns needed me to do, I helped them out.
"It was fun, it was exciting. It was a new position but it was definitely fun. I liked it. It was a little different than center, but I just had fun last year playing guard. I did start about six or seven games and a lot of times games I started, I didn't even know I was going to be playing guard. It was just being ready and being prepared."
Fraley also shared that he hopes to play another three years in the NFL, but even with that smaller window of career left, he has no issues with joining the Rams as they build towards the future...
"Being a team that's on the bottom, to be the best team in the league, it's really not that far removed. I know it's weird to say that, but sometimes it's just a couple plays here or there. It could be the mental game.
"A couple mental mistakes, if you're not making those mistakes you win the game. It's really not that far to actually turn the season around. It's just a lot of hard work in the offseason, in mini-camps and training camp. This season can be exciting. This is the second year these guys get to coach us down there and actually establish their system."
Fraley plans to arrive in St. Louis over the weekend.
