Due to weather and the suspension of play, many fans did not get their money’s worth and were cheated out of the event, leaving them furious, as they should be. I understand weather happens, mother nature is out of our control, but there are a number of things the USGA can do to make the situation right and they are neglecting to take any action.
There are many other options besides refunding the money. I am actually going to side with the USGA and say the ticket holders don’t deserve a refund, but at the very least the fans should be given a voucher, a comp to the course, or even the opportunity to come on Monday. That will not be the most accommodating to those who must get back to work etc., but at least its an offer and not the "too bad so sad" theory.
I really hope the association does what’s right and figures something out that will assist in making these deserving fans content with the outcome. We shall see how all this pans out.
