Happy Holidays!

Today we had KSDK's Rene Knott in for Burwell.

In our first segment we had some talk about steroids. While we talked about Manny Ramirez, Rene said that the kids today are more into the show rather than the drug issue.

Derek Goold joined us to give his thoughts on Todd Wellemeyer. If the Cardinals are going to add someone to this team, Parris asked Goold whether it should be a pitcher or a good batter. Goold said they need to add a bat, but he isn't quite sure if that bat is out there. He wonder's how good the pitchers have to pitch to win. Looking at last night's game, Goold said that Wellemeyer hasn't had a game like that in a while, and the consistency was there. He explained that it is all about if can he get back out there and have it work again.

A Friday edition of the Pat-Trick was all about Tony La Russa.  Parris listed the three things that La Russa does that annoys him the most.

After the Pat-Trick it was time to go "across the country" where we hit some of the hottest topics in the country.  We got started with talking Manny Ramirez with Seth Livingstone of USA Today.  Then we flew over to England to talk Wimbledon with Michelle Kaufman of the Miami Herald.  We finished up by talking NBA and all the moves happening with Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press.  You can listen to the entire segment by clicking here.

ESPN the Magazine did a poll asking fans what the best franchise in sports is.  The St. Louis Blues were the highest ranking team in St. Louis at number 10.  The Cardinals were ranked 26th and the Rams were all the way down at number 112 out of 122.

We were also joined by professional eater Gravy Brown on the show today.  Gravy is getting ready for the annual 4th of July Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest.  Brown has a personal best of eating 33 1/2 dogs in 10 minutes and he knows he will have to increase that number to be a winner.  You can hear what else he had to say by clicking on his picture below.
