As expected Todd Wellemeyer (7-9, 5.79 ERA) will spend some time in the Cardinal bullpen.  The 2nd worst starters ERA in baseball is doing in the right-hander.  Wellemeyer already threw a side session on Tuesday to work on his mechanics.  He'll be available in relief starting on Thursday.

The bright side of Wellemeyer's relegation is that an improving Mitchell Boggs gets another shot at starting with the big club.  The 25 year old righty has been very good in his last three starts with Triple-A Memphis.  Boggs going 3-0 with a 0.43 ERA. Barring a rainout the next couple of nights, Boggs will make a start Friday night against the Astros here at Busch Stadium.
