It's always interesting to breakdown some of STATS LLC's notes before a series.  A few jumoped out at me.

The first involving the newest Cardinal Matt Holliday:

Most Total Bases, Since July 11

Matt Holliday, Oak-StL  52

Garrett Jones, Pit      47

Ryan Braun, Mil         43

Alfonso Soriano, ChC    41

Michael Young, Tex      41

Holliday paying big dividends already for GM John Mozeliak and the Cardinals.

-----

The Cardinals are difficult to be when the bats are going well:

Best Record with 11+ Hits, 2009 Season

Detroit Tigers          24-1  .960

Colorado Rockies        22-1  .957

Chicago Cubs            22-3  .880

St. Louis Cardinals     20-3  .870

Tampa Bay Rays          23-4  .852

Chicago White Sox       23-4  .852

-----

And more proof of we already know, Albert Pujols is something VERY special:

Highest Career Batting Average, Players w/ 350+ Home Runs

Player                    BA      HR

Ted Williams            .344      521

Babe Ruth               .342      714

Lou Gehrig              .340      493

Albert Pujols           .334      353

Stan Musial             .331      475
