Brad Thompson will continue to pitch while he awaits a hearing on his recent 3-game suspension.  V.P. of On-Field Operations for MLB Bob Watson handing out the punishment for throw a pitch high and tight to the Mets' David Wright Wednesday afternoon in New York.

How does the punishment fit the crime Bob?  First, there was NO crime.  Thompson never hit Wright.  Second, Thompson was never ejected.

Cardinal Manager Tony La Russa before Friday's game in Pittsburgh told us reporters, "What happened doesn’t justify three days. The pitch got away."

La Russa also said, "Thompson wasn’t thrown out of the game. Bob Watson’s criteria. I don’t think there’s consistency there."

And La Russa added that he thinks Thompson was, "Very harshly treated, very unfairly.”

Thompson told me he doesn't know when the hearing will be, but he didn't hesitate to appeal the suspension.  Thompson is adamant that he did not intend for that pitch to be high and inside.

Come on MLB get a clue!  There's no crime here.  Why hand out the punishment then?
