  The summer of 2009 will long be remembered as one of the most mild in St. Louis weather history.  No prolonged stretches of sweltering heat.  No days where the heat and humidity did-in even the most loyal of Cardinal fans.

  No, the summer of 2009 will simply be remembered as the time when the Cardinals caught fire.  The Redbirds soaring to one of the best months of August in club history.  They started the month with a half game lead on the Cubs.  They end August up by 10 and a half games.
