About The Author:

Yours truly is super excited about being a part of the terrific team that is 101 ESPN! My job is to supply afternoon updates from noon to 7PM and cover the St. Louis Blues (something I've been privileged to do off and on since the 1991-1992 season).

I grew up in the area, hailing from the steeltown of Granite City, Illinois and began covering hockey while earning a degree from SIUE.

The Blues will square off against the New York Rangers today in a 5:00 start in a Third-Place Game from the NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan. The Note would have been in the championship game had they secured a regulation win from Minnesota in a 4-3 shootout victory last night in a final Round Robin contest.

Blues' right wing Aaron Palushaj (puh-LOU-shy) and center Phillip McRae (son of Basil) netted the shootout goals. Palushaj leads all Traverse City prospects in scoring with three goals and four assists (three helpers Wednesday night) through three games.

Andy Murray's team begins training camp on Saturday as an estimated 56 players (30 forwards, 20 defensemen, 6 goaltenders) will take physicals before hitting the ice on Sunday at Scottrade Center. More details on the team's camp roster and schedule to come.
