The Cardinals in recent years have NOT faired well against left-handed starters.  The same held true at the start of this 2009 season.  But in steps Matt Holliday on July 24th, and that stat has changed rather dramatically:

Cardinals in Games Started by Opposing LHP, 2009

                Thru 7/23         7/24 & Since

Record       14-15              12-4

Runs/Game  3.59                4.44

BA            .242                 .265

These numbers should give Cardinal fans hope for tonight's game against Marlin's lefty Sean West.
