I never excelled at math in school so it should come as no surprise that, today, when I thought to figure how many weeks it was until the regular season, I originally came up with three...then it occured to me that there is no September 31st and it became an awakening! It's only TWO weeks until games start to count in the National Hockey League! Training Camp just started on Saturday! Incredible.
Thursday, October 1st, four games in North America will raise the curatin on the much anticipated 2009-2010 campaign. Washington visits Boston, Toronto entertains Montreal, Colorado hosts San Jose and Vancouver travels to Calgary. Capitals/Bruins and Avalanche/Sharks will be nationally televised by Versus.
The Blues will be one of eight teams to begin regular season play on Friday, October 2nd. The Note faces Detroit in Stockholm, Sweden in a matchup that will also air on Versus. Fox Sports Midwest's Pat Parris has confirmed to me that his network will simulcast the second Blues-Red Wings game in Sweden (Oct. 3) with Fox Sports Detroit. Both games will have afternoon start times of 2:00, locally (Central). Both teams' TV broadcast teams will be represented in the simulcast including new Blues' color analyst Darren Pang.
