Ovechkin Vs. Pronger Highlights Night

The only two teams that have scored more goals than the Blues thus far in the young NHL season are the Washington Capitals and New York Rangers. The Note has netted nine while the Caps and Rangers have eached pumped in a league-high 10. Scoring phenom Alexander Ovechkin already has three which is tied with three others for the league lead. His teammate Alexander Semin has a couple and Ovechkin already has a league-leading six points.

The Capitals meet Chris Pronger and the Philadelphia Flyers tonight in a 6:00 (TV on Versus) start from Wachovia Center. Both teams are 2-and-0. The Flyers will be playing in their home opener after shutting out the Devils in New Jersey, 2-0, and defeating the Hurricanes in Carolina, 5-2. Pronger has two assists and is a plus-three heading into his first regular season game as a Flyer in Philly. Washington beat the Bruins in Boston, 4-1, before defeating Toronto at home, 6-4.

Six other matchups will include Ottawa at Toronto, Carolina hosting Tampa Bay, Minnesota entertains Anaheim, Montreal visits Calgary, Edmonton hosts Dallas and San Jose visits Los Angeles.
