Have some reverance and respect please. I do the same for you. It's the high holy days. And unlike many, for me, it's time for feast not fast. And feast means the obvious, food, but also the senses. We will be awash in the sights and sounds of post season baseball. When I first converted to Baseball I was a child. Baptized in the '64 championship...confirmed in '67...survived the last temptation of '68 (you know, Flood's slip, Brock's no-slide and the curse of that fat lefty). My faith was shaken but the apostles, Torre, Hernandez, Templeton (the wayward son), Whitey and the rest kept me centered.
Anyway, it begins tonight. Game 163 for the Tigers and the Twins marks the beginning of this celebration. There are many levels of fullfillment this month. Agony and ecstasy, if you will. There will be trials..there will tribulations...there will be angst. Also, there will be euphoria...there will be exhultation...and for a few there will be rapture. It begins tonight at 4:05. From then until the end of the World Series...respect please.
Can I get a witness?!
