Wednesday morning's edition of the Pat-Trick on the Parris and Burwell Show featured my three biggest concerns at the start of the off-season.  Fortunately, by mid-day, my biggest concern was alleviated.  Albert Pujols will not need Tommy John elbow surgery.

Dr. James Andrews only had to remove bones chips from the Cardinal super star's right elbow.  There had been many unsubstantiated rumors swirling throughout the morning that the more invasive procedure was needed.  Those rumors were proven false.  Turns out, Cardinal team physician Dr. George Paletta was merely an observer of the operation.

Now Pujols can focus on his rehab and be ready in time for spring training.  The hope has to be that the bone spurs were the cause of discomfort that kept Pujols from lifting weights and maintaining his strength throughout the season.

But for now, Cardinal Nation can exhale.
