9:02a -- Big Mac is coming back?? It was announced the Tony La Russa is coming back to manage the Cardinals and that Mark McGwire is going to be the hitting coach. We had to talk Rams too. The guys said yes, they expected the Rams to lose, but it got ugly. Both hosts were impressed with the show Peyton put on for the crowd.

9:42a -- McGwire coming back! The guys wonder if he can even coach. Yes he has helped a couple players, but Alvin wonders if he can be a good coach. Just because you have a skill, doesn't mean you can pass it on. The guys wonder if McGwire will talk about the past. They both hope he does. Alvin wants to hear him say that he took the performance enhancing drugs to recover, not to gain strength.
10:02a -- Time for "I've got something to say." Alvin says the Cards are getting off on the wrong foot by hiring Mark McGwire. Stully says he now has Peyton Manning as his favorite QB in the NFL. Cliff Saunders says that the Cards landed the biggest free agent of the offseason by bringing back La Russa. Most of the callers were in support of McGwire coming back to the team.
10:22a -- ESPN's Buster Olney joined the show. Buster was the first to break the story of Mark McGwire possibly coming back to the Cards. Buster says he first learned of the story yesterday afternoon, but doesn't know a lot exactly about how the Cards approached McGwire, but that a lot of the players were in support. Buster says however Mark decides to address the steroids issue, Tony will have his back. Is McGwire making a mistake by not addressing the past? Buster says a lot depends on what the organization tells him to say. Buster also wonders what kind of coach McGwire will be, making the transition from player to coach. 10:42a -- The boys talked pros and cons of having McGwire on the staff. They also took phone calls.
11:02a -- We listened in live on the Cardinals press conference where they announced Mark McGwire joining the staff.
11:42a -- Cardinals 2B Skip Schumaker joined the show and talked about Mark as a hitting coach. Skip says McGwire is a very 'mechanical' kind of coach than Hal McRae. Skip said all the 'distraction' talk isn't a distraction to him, it's all up to Mark when and if he ever wants to bring it up. Click below to hear the interview:
