The Blues have a big weekend planned as they head East to Philadelphia for tomorrow night's meeting with the Flyers at 6:00. The matchup will be the first of games on back-to-back days as Andy Murray's team will also oppose the Thrashers in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon in a 4:00 drop of the puck.
Defenseman Chris Pronger, acquired from Anaheim via trade in June, leads all NHL blueliners in average-time-on-ice per game with 27:17 per contest. He has 11 points in 12 games heading into this evening's matchup with the Sabres in Buffalo. The former Hart and Norris Trophy winner has netted a pair and helped on nine others while earning a plus-eight rating.
Pronger has helped Philly earn the league's number-one rated power play after converting on 16-of-57 man advantages at a rate of 28.1-percent. The Thrashers are right behind the Flyers after scoring on 13-of-48 attempts for the league's number-two PP. The Blues, meanwhile did improve slightly, last night, thanks to Lars Eller's power play goal and are up to 25th from 27th in PP. The Note has seven goals in 48 PP chances.
The Blues are aiming to snap a three-game losing streak after being outscored 8-1 in a recent homestand at Scottrade Center.
The Note is 1-3 against the Eastern Confererence this year (win over Carolina...losses to Atlanta, Pittsburgh and Florida). Last season the Blues were 7-10-1 in games outside the West.
