Burwell & Company Show Note Monday 11.16.09

9:02a-- Zach McCrite joins Burwell on Burwell & Company. Zach thinks if Rams fans are happy with this loss to the Saints then expectations are too low. Burwell thinks Rams fans don't have low expectations, but reasonable expectations.

9:22a-- The guys talk more Rams. Burwell thinks after yesterdays performance against the Saints showed evidence of improvement, but he would still rather take the win over the Lions, then the close loss to the Saints. Zach doesn't understand how Rams fans can be as happy with this loss a they are. Zach wants to know why fans were anti Steven Jackson last year, but love Steven Jackson this year. Burwell thinks most fans didn't like Jackson because he wasn't Marshall Faulk, and fans are just starting to come around.

9:42a-- Guys talk Pats vs Colts. Burwell thinks Belichick going for it on 4th down showed no confidence in his defense. Zach thinks that if that play would have gone the other way, Burwell would be calling Belichick a genius. Burwell thinks going for it wasn't the bad decision, it was the play the Pats called.

10:02a-- Rams rewind with Steve Savard. Steve thinks Belichick was wrong to go for it on 4th down. Steve thinks Bulger not going to the sideline wasn't that big of a mistake if it even was a mistake. Steve thinks he can now measure the improvement of this team after the Saints loss more then we could after beating the Lions. Steve says even though the Rams threw for 300 yards they still aren't playing the mistake free football they need to play.

10:22a-- More with Steve Savard. Steve thinks the lack of fan support for Steven Jackson is due to him not getting along with Faulk. Burwell says Jackson likes to be the bad guy and he needs to be angry in order to play well. Steve says Jackson and the whole team is desprate to win, that is why Jackson has bought into Spag's system. Steve thinks the Saints weren't at their best yesterday, and the Rams were at their best thats why we got the result we did yesterday.

10:42a-- Guys close out the show. Burwell just wants to know what Matt Holliday is thinking, regarding his future in St. Louis. Zach thinks Scott Boras is just playing games with the media so he can leverage other teams against each other.
