101 ESPN hosted the BIGGEST Football party of the year at the Roberts Orpheum Theatre on North 9th Street in downtown St. Louis on Sunday, January 24th.....the 101 ESPN inaugural “Gridiron Gala”……Doors opened at 12pm and 101 ESPN invited everyone to watch the AFC & NFC Championship games on the Roberts Orpheum's HUGE 30 foot Theatre screen with the entire 101 ESPN roster....Bernie Miklasz & Bryan Burwell broadcasted a special championship Sunday show LIVE from 12 to 2pm, there was a video game booth and football toss, a Toasted Ravs eating contest, raffle giveaways for tickets and signed memorabilia, plus right after the AFC Championship game ended, "The Midnight Swinger" performed a special LIVE stand up comedy show.
The event was a huge success with over 350 listeners coming down to enjoy both games with 101 ESPN. The winner of the Toasted Rav eating contest ate just over 1 lb. of Toasted Ravs in only 1 minute and 1 second. This was a great event for our listeners, getting to meet the entire 101 ESPN on-air staff and interact with the station!
