"Who are those guys?"

Echoing those words from Butch & Sundance, many pundits and coaches around America are trying to figure out the precocious St. Louis U. Billikens.  Rick Majerus has his kids playing hell bent for leather and if it's often not pretty or even working with a dangerous modus operandi (falling behind by double digits every night) it has been effective lately.

SLU has won five straight and have kept pace with the Atlantic 10 leaders...only a game out on the loss side.  Currently tied for fourth (though a tie breaker would drop the Bills to 5th) our crew is a true factor in the league race.

It starts with playing the type of defense that Majerus demands and taking what you can on the offensive end.  Each game seems to bring out another offensive star to go along with the consistency of Kwamain Mitchell.  For a stretch it was Willie Reed.  As the opposition adjusts Cody Ellis steps up.  Then Kyle Cassity, the glue guy, has back to back offensive hot games...now Christian Salecich is making big shots and who would have figured the gunner from down under would become a defensive stopper.

On Wednesday, Christian made the play of the night against Rhode Island with a mid-court steal and hand-to-hand combat filled drive to the basket and a finish that broke the back of the Rams.

Three of the next five contests are brutally tough.  The Billikens may not have arrived yet but, their train is steaming into the station.

"You didn't see Lefores out there did you?"
