The Blues shoot for a fifth-straight win tonight in Dallas. 7:30 is scheduled opening puckdrop from American Airlines Center. The Note is in the midst of a six-game road trip that began with a 5-2 win in Phoenix Tuesday night.
Davis Payne's team has 19 games left in its regular season and remains three points back of Detroit for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West. The Red Wings and Calgary helped the Blues and other aspiring West teams, below the cutline, with regulation losses last night.
The Stars are two points behind the Red Wings in the standings after a 5-1 loss on home ice to Los Angeles on Tuesday night (Dallas' first game back from the Olympic break). They're led by former Tampa Bay forward and Stanley Cup Champion Brad Richards who has totaled 17 goals and 50 helpers for 67 points in 60 games this season.
Forward Matt D' Agostini is with the team after being acquired from Montreal for minor league forward Aaron Palushaj.
Tonight's meeting will be the third-of-four with the Stars this season. The Blues lost the first meeting at home, 4-1, in October. The Note won the rematch in November, 4-3, in a shootout where tonight's game will unfold. The two are slated to meet again on April 3rd in St. Louis (only remaining Saturday night game scheduled at Scottrade Center).
