About The Author:

Yours truly is super excited about being a part of the terrific team that is 101 ESPN! My job is to supply afternoon updates from noon to 7PM and cover the St. Louis Blues (something I've been privileged to do off and on since the 1991-1992 season).

I grew up in the area, hailing from the steeltown of Granite City, Illinois and began covering hockey while earning a degree from SIUE.

The Blues will try to sweep a set of games back East when visiting New Jersey tomorrow night. Opening puckdrop is set for 6:00.

The Note aims to finish 9-7-2 against the Eastern Conference with a potential win. Davis Payne's team has 12 games left in the regular season and is five points back of Detroit for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West. The Red Wings are entertaining Edmonton tonight at Joe Louis Arena. The Oilers are the worst team in the NHL.

The Blues are coming off a 4-3 win at Madison Square Garden in New York on Thursday night. Paul Kariya netted his 400th career goal while Ty Conlin won his ninth game this season. All nine games have been away from Scottrade Center (including one in Sweden that technically does count as a home game).

The Devils scored a big win over Pittsburgh on Wednesday, no doubt inspired by green and red throwbacks harkening back to their look from '82-'92 after relocating from Colorado.
