I am sure some of you reading this are questioning my choice, and yes I understand why. You must have patients to travel with this airline due to the "open seating" policy. But here in St. Louis, the airline has an entire terminal just for them. It’s fantastic for quick arrival and departure with luggage and through security.
Have you ever had to change a flight or cancel a trip? Typically, this process is a pain and has ridiculous fees! What about luggage fees? Not over 50 lbs or have two not just one piece to check, don't pay Southwest anything! The more I think about it yes, some other airlines, Frontier and United, have better seating but have you looked at Southwest’s' business class option? What about their rewards program? If you have a Southwest Rapid Rewards Visa and use it to book flights on line, the return factor is
I just felt the need to express my complete satisfaction with this airline and would like to see if I am extremely lucky traveling with ease or am I destine to hit a bump with this airline. I have often had bad first experiences with other companies and felt the need to see what others thought.

pmcgrew 506 Days agoAs someone who travels for business (roughly 70k miles a year), I always look to American first. Their coverage of the US is a little better than Southwest, especially in the smaller towns. I prefer their rewards program to Southwest's for several reasons. First, the rewards are miles based, so a longer trip earns more than a short one, not the case on Southwest where each trip is a credit. Second, building status in the program earns upgrades to a true business class seat. Finally, I can redeem my miles to fly anywhere in the world, not just the US.
Having said that, I do fly Southwest from time to time and they are a great airline. Some of the points you make about Southwest don't really apply to my situation though. My company pays any change fees should I need to reschedule a flight and we also have a travel agent that handles that for us. Also, since I have status I don't have to pay the ridiculous checked bag fees, although I rarely check a bag anyway.
To each their own, if you enjoy Southwest, fly Southwest. It sounds like you're taking advantage of their rewards program. That is my biggest pet peeve, someone who travels a lot and doesn't care about earning the rewards.
