He made an appearance at my Grandmother's company Christmas Party, and signed autographs and talked to the kids. Something he was very passionate about. Fast forward about 20 years, and that was the next time I met him. He was still going strong, and as entertaining as ever. I was working for a different radio station at the time who frequently had him on as a guest. I recall being at a charity event in which Mickey had attended just 2 years ago. He posed for pictures(see my profile pic above) and seemed so full of life, and happy to be there. Mickey was responsible for a lot of the radio segments that I enjoyed, and remembered the most. I wish we had a chance to get him on 101 while he was still with us. Mickey was 89, and one of the last surviving cast members of the classic film The Wizard of Oz. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He will be missed. And to quote Mr. Carroll with one of his favorite sayings every time he made an appearance, "We Thank You Very Sweetly, For Doing It So Neatly." Thanks for all the memories Mickey.
