After three days of “finalizing” a deal on a contract extension, 101ESPN’s MLB insider and MLB.com reporter Jen Langosch confirms the Cardinals have signed catcher Yadier Molina to a three-year contract extension.

Fox’s Ken Rosenthal reports the deal is worth between $55-$65 million, making Molina baseball’s highest paid catcher.
Molina at numbers just reported will be highest-paid catcher by average annual value. Current high: #SFGiants’ Posey at $18.5M per year.

The Cardinals are holding a press conference at 1pm Sunday to announce the extension.
The deal could put Yadi in very respectable company, as 101ESPN’s Randy Karraker noted:
The only Cardinal HOFers to never wear another team’s jersey were Stan and Bob. If Molina’s deal gets done and he makes it, he’s the third.
