Michael Porter Jr. Could Play ’20-25 Minutes’ in Mizzou’s SEC Tourney Opener

Mizzou blue-chipper Michael Porter Jr. is ready to go and could play 20-25 minutes in Thursday’s second-round SEC Tournament game according to head coach Cuonzo Martin.

Martin alerted the media of Porter’s return Tuesday, with the news eventually broken via SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum.

Porter will not start Thursday’s matchup with the Georgia-Vanderbilt winner and Martin said he’d be surprised if the freshman plays 30 minutes according to ESPN’s Alex Scarborough.

“It’s really how I feel, the flow of the game, and how he feels. I don’t have it in my head to say, ‘He’s play this many minutes and that’s it.’ … But I’d be surprised if he played 30 minutes,” Martin said at Tuesday’s news conference.

“If he’s healthy, we’re rolling,” Martin added. “Unless the trainer or Mike says otherwise, he’s playing.”
