Yadier Molina Gets His 9th Career Gold Glove

Yadier Molina is paving a path to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Molina  won his 9th career Gold Glove with very little fanfare as Major League Baseball made the announcement late Sunday night. The only two catchers with more Gold Gloves are Johnny Bench (10) and Ivan Rodriguez (13) overall. Both Bench and Rodriguez are of course, in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Gold Glove Awards are voted on by players and coaches. Second Baseman Kolten Wong did not win the Gold Glove. Many believed this was his year to win the award but he ultimately lost out to Rockies Second Baseman D.J. LeMahieu.
