Blues trade goalie Jake Allen to the Montreal Canadiens

The first domino has fallen for the St. Louis Blues en route to bringing back their captain, Alex Pietrangelo.

Doug Armstrong and the Blues announced today that they traded Jake Allen and a 7th round draft pick to Montreal for a 3rd and 7th round pick in the upcoming draft.

This frees up $4.35 million contract for the Blues in the upcoming offseason.

Jake finishes his career in St. Louis with 148 wins, 3 shy of Mike Liut for all-time wins in franchise history.
