John McClain (Houston Chronicle), An Andrew Luck Conspiracy, and A Game of ‘VMA Nominee or Made-Up Person’

John McClain (NFL writer for the Houston Chronicle) joins Austin to talk about whether or not Andrew Luck is a Hall of Famer, how Andrew Luck’s retirement only makes Tom Brady look better, whether or not Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all-time, will Jadeveon Clowney be a Houston Texan by Week 17, if John could use his powers to get Billy Volek into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which of the eight movies he’s been in was his favorite to work on (including Spring Breakers with James Franco), what it’s like sharing a name with Bruce Willis’s character in Die Hard, and John shares the story of the two times he nearly fought Jerry Glanville (interview starts at 4:12).

Also, Austin shares his take on the entire Andrew Luck saga from the shocking announcement, Colts fans booing him, to O.J. Simpson drafting him, to Doug Gottlieb and Dan Dakich ripping him, to Bill Belichick not acknowledging him, and where the Colts should turn now. Hint: Curtis Painter. Austin also shares a conspiracy theory revolved around this entire saga (30:47).

And Austin watched the VMA’s so you didn’t have to. He points out some of the most ridiculous moments from the show and also brings his mom back on the podcast to play a game of ‘VMA’s Nominee or Made-Up Person’ (49:48).

Oh, and the podcast can’t end without some SHOUT-OUTS… Austin sends some to college football (by pointing out THE WORST games of the week), a potential Sudden Death reboot?, Jeff Goldblum, Jeremy Lin, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3, Dwight Howard, Saturday Night Live, and many more (1:17:34).
