Great work, as always, by Jim Thomas of the Post-Dispatch and STL Today regarding the suitors for the Rams.
Three groups with varying degrees of desire to keep the Rams in St. Louis. And Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez…if they don’t keep the team…have insisted they want a buyer to keep the team here.
With the fact that there are five more years on the Rams lease at the Edward Jones Dome…that there are no quality, unserved NFL markets outside of Los Angeles and that there are several teams in bad economic shape, we can assume the Rams are going to be here.
There’s enough corporate support here…the population is big enough to support even a mediocre team with strong enough ticket sales…and the NFL certainly recognizes the number of eyes and ears St. Louis delivers to their product.
We may not find ownership better than the one we have in St. Louis…but with the NFL rules that are in place in regard to moving a franchise and the timing of the Rams lease and L.A.’s desires…I guarantee the Rams aren’t going anywhere.
