I am far from an environmental activist…I don’t care about anything, except for sports…to be an activist.

But it has caught my attention that today is Earth Day, and I’m trying to do my part. This morning I used the refill option at Quik Trip rather than get a new plastic cup. I put the newspaper in the recycling. I made sure that the plastic bags from Dierbergs were put into recycling, too.

That fact that I buy plastic means I’m not an activist. But I’m trying to do my part. Because I like to get out and ride the bike, like to get out and play golf, I like the fresh air.

So I’m participating, but I don’t need a special day. As much as I can, I make every day earth day.

Along those lines, I want the Rams on Saturday to celebrate Draft Choice Day. Keep wasting those picks…throwing away the likes of Damione Lewis, Ryan Pickett, Lamar Gordon, Eric Crouch, Jimmy Kennedy, Jon Alston, Dominique Byrd and Anthony Hargrove.

Don’t be throwing away picks…recycle them. Use them again and again. After all, it’s for our kids future.
