As someone who is completely honest about my emotion (insanity?) when it comes to late-season or playoff hockey, I can completely relate when a hockey player goes nuts in March or April. I’ve said before…I’m glad that I never went downstairs with my press credential to confront Bryan Marchment when he was with the Sharks. It could have been an ugly scene.
And so I had some appreciation when I saw the story of Providence Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask going ballistic in a game against the Albany River Rats. Rask thought the officials went against the rules in a shootout, and went a little nuts. Fortunately for Rask, he won’t be suspended by the AHL because what he did happened after a game, and nobody got hurt.
On a side note, isn’t it great to see a call going against anything or anyone Boston? They’ve had it good enough this decade. It’s time.
