Carl Gunnarsson announces retirement after 12 NHL seasons

Blues Defensemen Carl Gunnarsson joined The Fast Lane on Wednesday to discuss his just announced retirement after 12 seasons in the NHL, his career with The Blues, and much more.


Blues defenseman Carl Gunnarsson is hanging up his skates after 12 seasons in the NHL. The 34-year-old announced his retirement on Wednesday.

Gunnarsson missed most of the ’20-’21 regular season with a knee injury. He played in 12 games having two assists and averaging 14 minutes of ice time.

Gunnarsson played seven season for the Blues, scoring 15 goals with 37 assists in 325 regular season games.
